Billing Integration

Bridges can manage the collection of Service-related payments via direct integration with an Organization’s payment platform. Payments created through this integration are automatically applied to the related Service as a Payment.

The Bridge billing integration API can be used to authorize or capture a Service Estimate prior to the date of service. This can be done as soon as a Service Eligibility has been created and an estimate amount is known, allowing a Patient’s payment method to be verified and funds authorized before scheduling a Service.

Additionally, when a Service reaches the settling status, if any outstanding balance owed by the Patient remains, Bridge can generate a final invoice for the amount owed and attempt to collect payment through an integrated billing platform. If a captured estimate amount exceeds the final patient responsibility, a refund can be generated as part of the invoice to settle the balance and complete the Service.

Finally, Bridge can be used to collect a one-time fee related to a Patient or Service. Fee amounts are not counted against the balance owed as part of a Service’s final Patient responsibility.

Bridge currently supports the following payment platforms:

The following features are configurable as part of this integration:

  • Customer Creation: Bridge can automatically create customer profiles in the integrated platform, syncing details to the platform when changes are made in Bridge.
  • Invoice Creation: Bridge can be configured to create a Service Invoice as part of the settling step of the Service lifecycle.
  • Invoice Collection: Separate to the creation of an invoice, Bridge can be configured to attempt final payment collection for an invoice. This incldues automatically refunding a previously captured estimate amount if it exceeds the final patient responsibility.
  • Fee Amounts: When specific Fees are charged, the amounts can be configured for consistency when collected automatically (for example, a No Show fee collected if a Patient misses a scheduled Service).
